Santee Electric Cooperative Headquarters

Mike Metz served as owner representative (while employed with a previous firm) to manage the relocation and expansion of the Santee Electric Cooperative Headquarters in Kingstree, South Carolina. Overseeing the redesign of parking access, security and separation of public spaces from secured parts of the facility enabling the office to provide a public conferencing space, while remaining secured for regular operation. Traffic management was developed to ensure delivery trucking, visitors, and employees did not cause congestion while entering or exiting the facility. The laydown yard was secured by fencing and expanded to address storage, maintenance, and organizational needs for rapid power management response, and a new state-of-the-art warehouse facility with a staged material handling process and transformer repair shop, as well as underground fueling facilities.
